According to the Economic and financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials in Lagos, the governor building a $3m hotel with Paris club refund to Nigerian states is Governor Yari of Zamfara state. According to Sahara Reporters, the governor who is the chairman of the Governor’s Forum was said to have illegally diverted #19billion reportedly meant for "consultants" from the Paris club loan refund. The hotel is said to be a 100-room property situated in Lekki area of Lagos.

Also the anti-graft agency is said to be ready to take over the hotel when the court order is obtained. Governor Yari also reportedly diverted N500 million from the Paris Club refund to pay off a loan, which he withdrew from the N19 billion Paris Club refund from the account of Nigeria Governors Forum. Governor Yari transferred the sum to the mortgage bank from which he had borrowed N800m to purchase to properties in 2013.

The governor had allegedly renegotiated his debt from N800m to N500m which he then paid. So far, the total amount the governor is accused of looting is N2.2 billion from the N19billion set aside illegally to pay "consultants." Meanwhile, When news first broke that EFCC officials have traced $3 million of the controversial London-Paris Club loan refund to a governor, Nigerians were furious to hear that he allegedly used it to build a hotel.

'We sold our home to build a social network'

Zoe Kleinman The Hughes family in Manchester have quit their jobs and put everything they own into building a social network aimed solely at sports fans. But can they take on the giants? "We see ourselves sitting at the top table with the big boys," says father Perry Hughes confidently. "We don't think we're taking on the competition." It might sound optimistic to put your family business in the same league as the multi-billion dollar social networks but the Hughes family certainly have the passion to give it a go. Son Sam, 21, has suspended his university studies and works through the night on the project. Daughter Mollie, 18, handles the social media side. GameDay is purely for sports fans, the family say. Members get live...

LG Display's 65-inch TV rolls up like wrapping paper

With the press of a button, LG Display's 65-inch screen slowly lowers into a box, rolling up around a solid core like wrapping paper. - The tech company showed off an impressive prototype of its latest rolling-screen technology at International CES 2018 in Las Vegas. Last year, it demoed a smaller 18-inch version that could fit in your back pocket. But now its latest -- and much larger -- display can roll up, too. The front of the 4k OLED display works and looks just like a regular TV screen. When rolled out, it's rigid and flat. The back is covered in small vertical slats, which allow it to curve for storage. The screen can also be rolled partially down to create different aspect ratios. A few inches of the display can be left up to show information like the weather or headlines. LG Display -- a research arm of LG Electronics, Corp -- focuses on developing innovative display technologies, which it then sells directly to display manufacturers that w...
