Ekiti Governorship Election, A Must Win _ Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has challenged the South-west caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure victory for the party in Ekiti. The president gave the charge during a dinner meeting with the caucus on Wednesday in Abuja. He said that the people could achieve the target by ensuring electoral victory for the APC gubernatorial candidate, Kayode Fayemi, in the July 14 governorship election in the state. Mr Buhari said that members of the party must work together in the state to ensure that the will of the people was not subverted. “I know Ekiti fairly well and Ekiti people are well known for their forthrightness, candour and integrity. “All of these values seem to have been lost and we must restore these values and return Ekiti to its pride of place in the comity of states. “As we approach the 2019 elections, the return of Ekiti into the fold of progressive states is important as the election of July 14 is going to be a key pointer to subsequent electio

The theme was “Information and Education as a Catalyst for Consumer Protection.” Majority of consumers in the area, which attended the meeting, complained bitterly about the poor quality of service in the region, which to them has become a menace and gradually making them lose interest in telecoms services. The disgruntled subscribers lodged complaints such as data and airtime depletion, unauthorised auto renewal, call drops, unresponsive customer c

Sunderland sack coach, to sell club

Sunderland  sacked manager Chris Coleman on Sunday, and then announced that owner Ellis Short was selling the  club  following the northeast side’s relegation to the third tier of English football. Sunderland said Short plans to sell to a group led by Stewart Donald, chairman of Eastleigh, a non-league club in the south of England. Sunderland have dropped from the Premier League to League One in under 12 months following two successive relegations, with Short admitting in a statement his disappointment at how his stewardship of the Black Cats had ended. “It is no secret I have been trying to sell Sunderland but I have waited until the right group came along that have the experience, finances and plan to take this great club back to where it deserves to be,” he said. “Overall my chairmanship has not gone the way I would have wished; the many high points of a decade in the Premier League have been overshadowed by the low points of the last two terrible seasons. “I was the

The Dangers of Laminating your Certificates And Other Vital Documents

Lamination is the process whereby thin layers of transparent polythene nylon is joined together to protect paper documents such as certificates, results, testimonials etc. Why Do People usually Laminate Certificates? Below are some important reasons why people seem to laminate their certificates/documents below: 1. It protects paper materials from getting damaged by fluid, dust/dirts, grease and hampered edges. 2. We believed, lamination elongates the life span of important document like certificates, results and so on. 3. It improves the strength, quality and appearance of the product. There are more to it but those are the most important reasons why people often opt in for a lamination. A lot of people make believe what isn’t supposed to be true. DapchiGirls: 105 girls now confirmed released by Boko Haram – Lai Mohammed

The Nigerian government has now confirmed that 105 girls have been released from among 110 kidnapped in Dapchi, Yobe State. The girls were released early on Wednesday weeks after they were kidnapped from their secondary school in Dapchi, Yobe State. The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, who stated these, is currently at the Air Force Base in Maiduguri waiting to receive the released girls. He also said a boy was among those released by the terror group. He explained that the earlier conflicting figure released by him was because the “the girls went to their homes after they were released in Dapchi.” He said the figure is being updated as the girls showed up in the presence of public officials. “What we have now is 105 girls and a boy; that makes it 106 persons released today”, he said. DapchiGirls: Nigerian military, police ignored warnings of Boko Haram attack‎ – Amnesty International

The revelation marked the strongest indication yet that the Nigerian security agencies, despite their denials, may have had a fore-knowledge of the attack within an actionable time-frame but failed to act for reasons that critics say could range from a lack of sufficient capacity to outright negligence. This is especially because the security agencies appear to have learnt little from a similar debacle barely four years ago when 276 schoolgirls were seized by Boko Haram in Chibok, a community in the nearby Borno State. In its report, published Tuesday, Amnesty International said its investigations revealed that the military failed to respond when it was alerted to a convoy of Boko Haram that was coasting towards Government Girls Science and Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State, in the afternoon of February 19. Amnesty International said testimonies gathered from credible sources indicated that the army and the police received multiple emergency calls up to four hours bef

Two scrap traders at Igidanpani, New Garage market in the Ojota area of Lagos have been killed following a clash between the Yoruba and the Hausa traders. Revealed: I will work with Jonathan but not

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has declared that he would never work with ex-President Goodluck Jonathan again as Nigeria’s president. Premium Times reports that he made his position known on Tuesday, January 23, in a letter he sent to President Muhammadu Buhari about 2019 election and the state of the nation. The former president, who supported Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2015 presidential election, said his love for Nigeria and Jonathan’s lacklustre performance made him dump the PDP to support the APC. “All these led me to take the unusual step of going against my own political Party, PDP, in the last general election to support the opposite side. “I saw that action as the best option for Nigeria. As it has been revealed in the last three years or so,
